They are both great records IMO, but my favorites would have to be O' What a Nightmare! for Animal and Holy Cow! on Not Animal. Coincidentally, both of my
favorite songs are exclamations, go figure...

first it was o what a nightmare, then it was mariel, i seem to go back and forth between those. not animal its probably the shivers, but really its the three
songs all together pages, shivers, ocean

As much as I've heard it, I love the full version of The Ocean (is bleeding salt). Always partial to the acoustic, but even better, me think, now.
Mariel's Brazen Overture as well though. Really really good. It's tough. Very tough. |

I would have to say overall I have many favorites. One that I dont seem to play a lot, but everytime i listen to it I am reminded of dust of retreat (which is
a wonderful thing) is There's Talk of Mineshafts. I think the combo of Mariels Brazen Overture/There's talk of Mineshafts is very beautiful. Mineshafts
has a certain feeling to it that is difficult to explain. It almost sounds like it was recorded back in the 50's maybe 60's. So, all in all I would
have to say Mineshafts is my favorite. But the combo of those two songs couldnt be any more perfect.

I agree, the story within the two songs, and the sound, just creates a masterpiece. i love those two songs, they are for sure my favorite.
