I'm not sure if this has come up before but here I go. I was wondering if there was any conceivable way of obtaining a lossless version of Animal!. Since
it has only been released digitally in mp3 (as far I am aware), I'm guessing this would range from very difficult to impossible. Not that the 320 kb/s
mp3's from the vinyl purchase aren't great but I can't help but wish I could get them in a lossless format as I could with The Dust of Retreat. Any
ideas would be much appreciated.

Well this certainly gives some context to the seemingly random WHAT.CD thread...
If memory serves, a limited number of Animal/Not Animal two disc sets were produced by Epic and sent to radio stations/media outlets to promote the album and garner reviews. That became the source of the Animal! FLAC rip (and original leak of the album). |

I'm not too keen on this whole lossless compression thang, so I'm not sure what to do on the ripping for that (can I pull it off in Windows Media or ITunes? - noticed some lossless options there), but I happen to have a few of the CD promo copies of Animal!/Not Animal, so I might could help.

ryanlandis, thanks for figuring out how to do that... however, i had to take that post down, sorry. if you wanted to share the files with someone please message that person individually. by having them posted here, anyone and everyone (including non-members) can come here and download them too. i'd rather not be promoting giving away the band's latest album for free on these boards, if you know what i mean.
 if you want to do it your own way, more power to you. sorry, i hope you understand where i'm coming from. thanks.

The quality of these compared to the album mp3 is really quite incredible. Especially drums and vocals.
