Yeah, that was the plan. It's one thing to post live songs or demos, but actual album songs is a bit different.

umm, BEST NEWS EVER!
Looks like East Coast, down through Florida in September, West Coast in mid-October-November. Current release date for "Buzzard" is Sept 15th. This could change by a week or two. Currently working on some recording and getting ready for Metronome (Chicago) and Forecastle (Louisville). Also, the VERY limited edition vinyl pressing of "The dust of retreat" will be up for pre-order in the coming days.

Great news from yesterday:
Don't forget, tomorrow night Richard will be at Chicago's Lincoln Hall. Should be a great night. Also, be sure to mark September 7th on your calender, with a big "B". More soon. Love, Margot.

I don't know if I've ever posted these here, but I was going through my podcasts and rediscovered some old stuff. Just scroll through on each of these links and you'll find the Margot interviews/performances.

via facebook:
quick update since it's been awhile. The Buzzard masters have been sent in, and are being pressed. Packaging looks real nice. Press release will make everything official soon, but since you guys are swell, September 7th will see the release of "Buzzard", vinyl on the 21st. Tour begins on the 15th. Dust vinyl is on track, pre-orders delayed so we can touch up the vinyl master. No worries. Thanks for being patient. A lot of work is happening right now, and come late Summer, it'll be all worth it. Love.

looks like Richard sold one of his guitars today:
http://www.facebook.com/p...26996&id=110817058938538 Richard is selling a guitar that he used on the animal recordings and tours, and will be buying a buzzard guitar. Out with the old. Throwing it up here before it goes on craigslist, in case any of you have need for it. It's a Gretsch electromatic hollow body, like the picture below. The bigsby is gold, however. $600.

from FB:
Yes, tour dates are all booked, for the first month, at least. Erik is currently matching up street team volunteers to specific cities, so we'll be in touch very soon. Album artwork and tracklist should hit this week.

I think I like backside artwork better, although the front is pretty striking. Either way, I can't wait to to get the LP-sized version of this in my hands.

Well, it's not directly from Margot, but from Joe who used to work for WOXY, so I trust it... looks like the release date was moved back by 2 weeks.
@eachnotesecure New album from Margot & The Nuclear So & So's due out Sept 21 on their own label

Any word on when the Dust of Retreat vinyl release will be for sale? I am very eagerly awaiting this one.

The album will be sold at the shows that precede the release, so there won't really be a "release show". Not sure we've ever had a release show. The record comes out when it comes out, I guess.
Also, pre-orders will start in a couple weeks, and those will be sent out a week or two early, so people who pre-order will not be waiting until the 21st. 200 of the vinyls are red, matching the cover, and those will only be available with pre-orders. The other several thousand are normal black vinyl. Dust is all set, we're just pushing the pre-order back a little bit, since "Buzzard" stuff is coming up so quickly. The way we release music is going to change a great deal. We basically opted to form a label, which Redeye is funding, so for the first time, we own everything we do, and don't have to wait on anyone's approval to do anything. This means we will be (hopefully) releasing records much quicker than we have in the past. Now that we have a label that is distributed by a major distro house, and funded well, and completely independent, things seem to be moving much better. |
