The Boy Least Likely To reminds me of my childhood, most appropriately.

Speck, I love The Microphones. Have you heard the Live in Japan LP? It's very good.

speck and breanna... i LOOOOOOOOVE the microphones too! they have so much music out there, it's crazy. i think i've managed to get my hands on all of it though. so if there's anything you want, just holler.
have either of you given mount eerie a listen? it's the side project of the of the microphones' phil elverums. i've listened to a little bit of it, and it's okay. not as breathtaking as the microphones stuff. i'm gonna give it a few more chances though. he's coming to town in the beginning of december, and i'm awfully interested in checking the show out. oh, and to stay on topic... i'm in love with this little band: dear and the headlights like whoa. they just got signed to an indie label, so their full-length album should be out soon. for now there's just a couple of singles and EPs, but damn, it's goooooooood. |

Yeaaaah Microphones!
I have NOT listened to Mount Eerie...but the temptation is growing everyday there is no more Microphones to hear. Everytime I'm in my record store I pass up "Drums" and "Singing"...or is it "Voices"? Are those good? I think they're random EPs from The Glow, Pt. 2. Ok, ok, ok. Dear and the Headlights has to be one of the greatest band names I am heard in a while. I am going to go dig up some music on them asap. |

You know, those Microphone EPs I was mentioning were 10'' records, so they must be from the Mount Eerie stuff.
I love it when you really commit yourself to a certain band, album, song, what have you...maybe forget about it/them for a few months or a year and then happen to listen to them. I'm kind of having one of those times with the Microphones. Hearing Sufjan sing "O Holy Night" sort of just made my holiday season. |

i've recently started listening to more elvis costello. i forgot how good he was, and its been kind of force fed to me here now, and its renewed my interest. also? badly drawn boy. why? cause he did the sound track for about a boy. -megs

Sea Wolf.
It's been a little impossible to exist at work without hearing the name of Sea Wolf. Unfortunately, after missing his residency at a nearby venue during the summer and without a CD or an EP for sale, I was forced to go to his MySpace about once a day to subside my cravings. I just got back from his headlining show at the Troubadour, finally got the EP and...am in total bliss. Check him out, really beautiful music. The rest of the show was outstanding as well, and all these lovely gentlemen will be playing in my head all night long. Patrick Park Ferraby Lionheart What Made Milwaukee Famous "I'm too nostalgic.
