ok, so, this is somewhat fuled by my current indfatuation with the leadman, tyler. its also because they sat next to us at the Hot IQs show, and are really cool guys.
i missed their set at MMS, and after they slipped me their EP, i am kicking myself for not going!
comparisons are escaping me. they have really neat bass and drum lines that are not overwhelming or incongruous, but also do not fade into the background. the vocals remind me of the crisp vocals of 80s and 90s new wave bands, and the lyrics are poetic and sensical. (i hate non-sensical lyrics. bore. anyone can ramble about nothing and call it "poetry")
on the dancability scale, i put them more dancable than Angels and Airwaves, but less dancable than We Are Scientists. somewhere around OK Go.
check 'em.
