What kind of sound are you looking for? Do you want to recreate a real drum kit sound? Or are you looking for a more electronic sounding snare and 808 kinda
thing?
A program like Battery or Reason would allow you to do about anything you want. My band uses samples from Battery for almost all of our drums/percussion. Reason has samples as well, but the quality of the samples aren't as great, but we still use Reason's sequencer for live performance. There are cheaper options out there than these programs...you'll just need to shop around and figure out what you need/don't need. If you want to recreate a "real" drum sound, you'll get what you pay for. Check this out when you have a few hours to kill, because it's really addicting: http://www.hobnox.com/aud...ol-startpage.1046.en.html This website lets you play around a few classic machines...maybe this will help give you an idea what you're looking for. |
