Just wanted everyone to know that the next Margot show here in Indy will be multitracked for posterity. Now that the band is on Epic I am not sure what will
happen to the recording, however.

just hope the skully's sounds guy doesnt suck anymore, but i have high hopes

Only one more day until the Indy show at The Murat. This one will be 24 channel multitracked. The Irving show on MFT is only 16 tracks, so some mic'ing
compromises had to be made. Not this time. It is also being filmed (3 camera HD from my understanding). Probably for nothing more than documentation and maybe
some YouTube cuts is my guess. We shall see. I was asked to go and record the Bloomington show too, but I am borrowing some extra equipment and expertise from
a friend of mine to pull off 24 tracks at once and he cannot make both Indy and Bloomington, so.....................

me too, since i may only be able to be at the columbus show after all, perhaps the bloomington and the cbus show....we'll see what happens.

The Bloomington show was 24-tracked as well. It was a MUCH better show than Indy (night and day really). Visually and soundwise the room at the
Buskirk-Chumley Theater is awesome. Better than any other venue I have seen them at (but have only seen them at The Vogue, The Irving, The Murat Arabian Room
and the Buskirk-Chumley. There was another 3 camera HD video shoot done at this show as well. We are going to work on making a DVD from the Bloomington show.
Not sure what will be done with it, but it will exist.

aww, you're too kind mike! it was great to meet you as well... i can't thank you enough for recording the shows!
man, i'm totally wishing i could've made it out to the bloomington show. i was way too hungover after the indy festivities though. i thought the murat show was fantastic (minus the crowd), so i really can't fathom a better performance? that's pretty awesome! the idea of a DVD... genius. the columbus show was a little bit of a let down. don't get me wrong, it was great getting to hang out with speck, and see everyone again and say my goodbyes, but they were in such a hurry to get out of town to new york that they went on super early (i almost didn't make it there in time -- they went on at 8:30), and only played for 45 minutes. that's my own fault though, everyone told me that i should've skipped out on c'bus and just go to bloomington instead, but i wanted to see what columbus was like, haha. the music was good, i just wish there would've been more of it, that's all! 
anyways, can't wait to hear these shows!!

i agree christie, it was awesome seeing you again, as well as the rest of the guys, but yeah they were all in such a rush to head out for NY the next day. the
show was good, but the crowd was relatively small so i think they were a little down about that.
christie, if you really want a columbus music experience you should go to a good show at the newport or the LC, perhaps the basement, i've seen some good ones there...oh! apollo sunshine on sunday! that should be good. |
